The 144th annual Broome County Fair started this Tuesday at the fairgrounds in Whitney Point and will continue through Sunday. I know I have awesome memories of going to fairs with my family and then with friends as I got older. And Chris and I always enjoyed taking Ian to fairs when he was young.

It's a rain-or-shine event and today it looks like the weather will cooperate. Today the fair will feature pay-one-price rides for $20 where you can ride the rides from 5 till 10 pm. The tractor pulls will start tonight at 6. If you plan on going to the fair tomorrow the 4-H Horse Show will begin at 8:30 and again you can pay $20 and ride all the rides from noon till 5. At 5 p.m. they will have the Stinky Shoes Contest. I think I have some old sneakers I might be able to enter into that I can enter into that competition. Saturday will feature the super stock and modified tractor pull, the perfect burger contest, and the Lego building contest. The fair wraps up on Sunday with Veterans Day where all veterans receive $1 off admission.  Sunday at the fair you can enjoy horse pulls, the King Arthur Baking contest, and the championship round of the Stinky Shoes Competition. I'm just glad I'm not a judge for that contest.

Every day at the fair you can enjoy games of chance and of course the awesome fair food. Get all the information on everything happening at the Broome County Fair on their website.
