The Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park welcomed 3 new red wolves to the Wolf  Woods exhibit today. Momma, Piglet, and Miku, considered one of the rarest canids in the world will share the exhibit with a grey wolf named Remus who will actually be on Wolf  Woods opposite side.

In 1980, this species was listed as extinct in the wild, the U.S. Wildlife service caught 14 of the remaining population and reintroduced them into eastern North Carolina in 1987.

How rare are these three new additions to our zoo? There are approximately 175 left which makes them critically endangered.

Another reason to come visit the Binghamton Zoo this season!
