He says partying was more important than playing when the two friends got together.

Who do you share a birthday with?

"The whole thing was bizarro land," he later said of this first gig.

"Obviously, it’s not Pantera," says guitarist who’ll play alongside Phil Anselmo, Rex Brown and Charlie Benante.

They'll replace classic era band members Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul.
