A hearing is planned in Windsor to talk about a proposal for a wind farm in the eastern part of Broome County.

The Town of Sanford has put a three-month moratorium on the proposal by Calpine energy to put 27 turbines in Sanford and Windsor.

Another one of those giant turbines will be rolling through our area today and probably tomorrow. Check out a video of the last one that passed through here.

It looks like a piece of modern art, but is capable of producing enough energy to heat a home of four people!
