For those of you who are new to the Triple Cities area, here are five major things that the Binghamton area is most known for, in no particular order.

Binghamton has been known as the "Parlor City" for a long time. In fact, the 150th anniversary of the first published use of the nickname is coming up.

Entries are being accepted until April 6 for the 2022 Binghamton Business Plan Competition.

Apparently, that nickname didn't sit well with some Binghamtonians, thinking it was less than flattering, but a campaign to stop it, failed.

As I'm sure you know all too well... we don't get to choose our nicknames... but sometimes they stick without even trying! How did Binghamton earn one of it's many nicknames?
