It was another great game last night! So good that you hated to see one team lose. But when all was said and the buzzer sounded, the Duke Blue Devils defeated the Wisconsin Badgers, 68-63, to capture their fifth national title! They now tie UNC and Indiana for the most national championships.
Saturday's Final Four was as exciting as it gets, with Duke overpowering Michigan State, 81-61. Little did we know that the best was yet to come, as Wisconsin upset Kentucky, 71-64, spoiling their perfect season, and knocking them out of the competition.
It was an exciting weekend of college hoops as sixteen teams became eight and then four who are now on their way to Indianapolis. The weekend even included a convincing win by Mike Krzyzewski's, Duke Blue Devils defeating Gonzaga, 66-52.
The ultimate collegiate basketball competition is now down to 16 teams. With a few early eliminations, that included number 2 seeds Virginia and Kansas, I thought I'd put in my two cents on who is likely to advance to the next round.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, that Syracuse University Coach, Jim Boeheim will retire after the 2017-18 season. I can't imagine watching an SU basketball game, without his familiar face on the sidelines.
If you haven't heard the shocking news, in response to on going NCAA investigation, Syracuse University has removed the Mens basketball team of all tournament play this post season. No NIT, ACC or NCAA tournaments for the men in orange this season.
