With stay at home orders in effect across the United States, people are itching to just get out of the house. A lot of people are bringing back the old “Sunday Drive”.

If you think about it, it’s not a bad solution to help you deal with cabin fever. You can take a nice leisurely ride with your family (as long as you all live in the same household) and you don’t really have to worry about social distancing as long as you stay in your car.

A nice ride up to one of the Finger Lakes sounds pretty relaxing. If you are riding up Rt. 14 alongside Seneca Lake, you see some very relaxing sights. It’s much better to be a passenger on that road than a driver. Or the view from Esperanza Mansion on RT 54 A overlooking Keuka Lake has some breath taking views.

Cars.com recently conducted a survey asking people how they’ve been using their cars since the Covid-19 outbreak started. 60 percent of the parents surveyed said they have been taking Sunday drives just to get out of the house.

But that’s not the only thing people are using their cars for during the Coronavirus outbreak. The research found that 53 % of parents are using their cars just to get away from the kids for a little while. And 1 in 4 people that were surveyed said they have used their car as an office while working from home.

If you are in the market for a new or used car, a lot of the auto dealers in the Binghamton area are now open. Most of the buying experience needs to be done online or over the phone, and you can’t take a test drive, but if you need a vehicle, at least you can still buy one.
