Southern Tier Braces for March Snowstorm
Just when you thought we were going to have an early spring, we are about to get hit with another big snow storm. All week long I’ve been hearing rumbles about a possibility of snow storm on Friday. Today when I opened my email and received our weather forecasts from Brian Schroeder over at WBNG StormTrack 12, I couldn't believe that there is already a winter storm watch in effect for Friday. The National Weather Service has the watch in effect for all 24 hours of the day, starting at midnight and going until midnight Saturday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, heavy snow is possible on Friday with total accumulations of 5 to 10 inches possible. We really shouldn’t be surprised, we usually see snow in March. Remember the huge storm that hit our area last March? Some parts of the Binghamton area were covered with over three feet of snow.
After a couple of warm days last week and this week, I was hoping golf season would come early this year. But, Instead of getting my golf clubs out of the garage, it looks like I will be pulling out the snow blower instead.
