Hey skiers, your season is off to a great start with 4 resorts now open and Woods Valley set to open on November 23, 2019!

Several New York ski resorts have announced that they're now open for skiing and snowboarding. Let the fun begin.

Whiteface will open this Friday, November 15th, for Opening Weekend. The first chair spins at 8:30 am to Broadway, Lower Valley, and Fox with a Terrain Park. Discounted lift tickets will be available at the window for Opening Weekend. They will be closed midweek starting Monday, November 18, and will announce the mountain schedule for the following weekend.

Gore Mtn kicks off the 2019-2020 season Friday-Sunday, November 15-17. With the weather on their side for snowmaking and comfortable skiing temps, this is the perfect opening weekend. Snowmakers have been piling up snow on a beautiful route that takes skiers from scenic Foxlair to the newly developed Wild Air, then on to 3B and the Base Area. Beginner terrain is available on Bear Cub so all levels can join the fun!

Today is the opening day of the 2019-20 season. Hours are 9AM-4PM, with up to 7 trails serviced by 1 lift. Primary surface conditions are expected to be loose and frozen granular on a machine groomed base of 24-36 inches.

Cold temperatures allowed snowmakers to put down plenty of fresh snow over the past week. open trails includeHellgate, 7th Avenue, Kennedy Drive, 5th Avenue, Park Ave West, Belt Parkway, and the Battery. The Empire Parks crew has also been hard at work setting up several rails and boxes for you to enjoy on Park Ave West. Please note, the terrain will not be available for beginner level skiers and riders at this time.

Hours of operation are  9:30am-4pm today (11-15-19) and 8:30am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday. Guest Services will open a half-hour before and half an hour after scheduled lift times. There are no discounts off the opening weekend rates. Rentals, the Tuning Center and Trax Mountain Side Dining will be open. No First Timer terrain will be available. Lessons will be on a first-come (limited) basis, by reservation for advanced beginner-advanced levels only.

Toggenburg is not yet open, but Season Passholders can use their season pass at Greek Peak before Toggenburg's opening day. You must pick up your pass at Toggenburg during regular business hours before coming to Greek Peak.

Another season is poised to start on Saturday, November 23. New water pumps and snow guns worked flawlessly during our initial run of snowmaking this week. This will be the earliest opening in their 56 years of operation.
No word yet on Val Bialas Ski Center in Utica, or Snow Ridge Ski Resort in the Adirondacks.
