School Capital Projects Up for a Vote

Voters in several Broome County school districts are being asked to approve funding capital projects.

Binghamton City Schools are looking for approval of $34.7 million in improvements for all of its buildings except the new Mac Arthur Elementary School.

Projects range from accessibility upgrades, technology additions and lighting to windows and signs.

Sixty percent voter approval is needed for the projects to move forward.

Voting is from 12pm to 9pm. December 5 at eight polling sites.

Chenango Valley wants to spend close to $15 million for upgrades.  Voting at the High School Auditorium is from 2 to 9 p.m.

Union Endicott wants voters to approve more than $12 million in upgrades to all eight of its buildings.

Projects include roof replacement, air conditioning installation and upgrades to the bleachers at the Jennie F. Snapp Middle School.

Voting is noon to 9 at the district office, George F. Johnson Elementary and Thomas J. Watson Elementary schools.
