The late Steve Kraly was loved by the community. He starred on the mound with the Binghamton Triplets and went on to pitch for the New York Yankees.  He was inducted into Binghamton's Baseball Shrine in 1997 and the Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame in 2016. After his playing career ended he remained in the area and worked at IBM for over 30 years.

Kraly had his best season in 1953 when he went 19-2 with the Triplets and was promoted to the New York Yankees.  With New York Kraly appeared in five games and was a member of the Yankees' World Series Championship Team that season.

Kraly helped numerous young pitchers develop their game.  He took part in hundreds of charitable and community events and was the official scorer at Binghamton Mets games from their start in 1992 through more than two decades at NYSEG Stadium.
