WNBF's Roger Neel is marking four decades of service at the Binghamton radio station.

Neel joined WNBF on October 2, 1978. He had been working in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, when he learned of an opportunity to be the play-by-play announcer for the Broome Dusters in Binghamton.

Over the years, Neel has covered countless sporting events for WNBF Radio. He also has been involved with television coverage of a wide range of Binghamton events over the years.

In addition to his sports-related work, he has served at WNBF in various capacities. He now is co-host of the station's "First News" program weekday mornings. He also writes for the WNBF.com website and is the WNBF brand manager for Townsquare Media.

Neel was honored Tuesday afternoon with a luncheon at the radio station's Court Street offices.
