The Whale Rocking in Bainbridge
This past Saturday General Clinton Park in Bainbridge was Rockin' with three great local bands and headliners The Marshall Tucker Band.
Friday afternoon I packed up the Whale Van and headed up I-88 to Bainbridge, New York to be part of this years 'Rock in the Park' event at General Clinton Park.
I decided to experience the event by camping in the park all weekend.
Rains were expected and they didn't let us down, but things got better as the first act started kicked off the event at Noon.
Tumbleweed Highway started off the event with a blend of amazing original songs, polished and well-written lyrics that just fit perfect. Great guys as well.
Wreckless Marci hit the stage with a smokin' Tom Petty tune and never stopped rockin! They even threw in some Garth Brooks and Neil Diamond...These guys are.the people's band.
Woodshed Prophets were amazing, their fans came out from every direction dancing and singing to their entire set. I love these guys,
And then it was the Marshall Tucker Band with founding member Doug Gray.
From the moment they walked off the bus they were friendly and engaging to everyone, they seemed genuinely happy to be there.
One of the stand-outs in the band was keyboardist, flutist, saxophone Marcus James Henderson who continue to jump from instruments throughout the afternoon.
Original lead singer Doug Gray would engage the crowd and tell a few stories in between.
I had a chance to talk with the founding member for a few minutes prior to the show, I asked him if he was having fun and he said something like its all good which I took to mean life in general.
Special thanks to Jason and Erica Hall for their hospitality, we enjoyed everyone in the park.
