Reports Say Early Voting in New York is Going Smoothly

For the most part, Boards of Election across New York State are reporting a smooth roll-out to early voting over the weekend.

Nearly 50,000 people voted statewide, excluding data from Erie and Oneida counties, which have not yet been counted.

According to state Board of Elections data, most counties reported a decrease in ballots from Saturday to Sunday.

Officials said they expect voter turnout to increase next year once residents are more familiar with the early voting process.

The voting times change from day to day.

October 29 & 30 in Broome County the polls at the Oakdale Mall, Broome County Library and George F. Johnson Library are open from noon to 8 p.m.

In Tioga County, voting at the Board of Elections is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. October 29 and October 30 from noon to 8 p.m.

New York's early voting period will last until November 3. Election Day is November 5.
