Broome County is looking to participate in a sustainable energy loan program for local businesses and non-profits.

The Property Assessed Clean Energy or “PACE” program will help agencies install solar panels and other renewable-energy products.

A public hearing on the plan is set for November 3 at 5:30 p.m. since launching the program would require a change in a local law.

Southern Tier Solar Works Program Manager, Adam Flint is praising the move toward the loan program after it gained unanimous approval in the Broome County Legislature.
