Thanksgiving stands for a lot of things. I tend to forget some of the important things that we should be thankful for. I was reminded this week, after finding out our Whale family lost a past co-worker recently. It was a reminder of how thankful I am to have worked with so many good people at WAAL and our sister radio stations over the past 31 years.

Recently our WAAL/WKOP family lost an amazing person. For 25 years from the early 70s to the mid 90s,  Anita was our Office and  Business Manager. For those of us who had the privilege of working with her, she was more like our workplace Mom. She kept us in line more that the boss. Anita made us mind our manners, watch our mouth (she kept a 'swear jar' in the office) and was someone you could go to for advice, whether it was to do with workplace or personal issues.

In the too brief time I had during the calling hours reminiscing with Anita's husband and children, the good memories of those years came flooding back. For that I am thankful. We will miss you Anita. Thanks for being our workplace Mom.
