Radio Host Rush Limbaugh Has Died at the Age of 70

Rush Limbaugh - the longtime host of a nationally-syndicated radio program - has died as a result of complications related to lung cancer.

The news was made by Limbaugh's wife, Kathryn, at the start of his show Wednesday afternoon. She said her husband had died in the morning.

Just over a year ago, Limbaugh announced at the end of a Monday afternoon program that he had been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer.

Limbaugh had been a driving force in talk radio for more than three decades. His program was heard weekdays from noon to 3 p.m. on News Radio 1290 WNBF in Binghamton.

The Rush Limbaugh Show was carried by several hundred radio stations across the United States.

Limbaugh's wife said his death leaves "a tremendous void in our lives and, of course, on the radio."
