Authorities say 27-year-old Bradly Falkenmeyer of Coventry has been charged with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

According to New York State Police, Falkenmeyer was arrested late Friday afternoon after a dispute that began when a neighbor's dog was seen on his property.

The neighbor, whose name was not released, told troopers Falkenmeyer displayed a shotgun and threatened to shoot him and his dog.

Police discovered a shotgun in Falkenmeyer's residence. Because he was on parole, he was not able to legally possess firearms.

Falkenmeyer was arraigned in Coventry town court and sent to Chenango County Jail without bail.
