A restaurant on Binghamton's West Side has been accused of serving alcohol and food in defiance of Governor Cuomo's emergency order closing down such businesses.

Members of the city police Community Response Team checked out a complaint that Caribbean Patty World was ignoring the directive.

The officers were sent to the business at 188½ Main Street around 10:05 p.m. Thursday.

Police observed people drinking alcohol at the bar. They were directed to leave the establishment.

The alleged violation has been referred to the New York State Liquor Authority.

Under the governor's executive order, restaurants and bars were to stop serving food or beverages on-premises as of Monday night. Until further notice, the businesses may sell items only for off-premises consumption.
