Summertime is here and one of the best things about summer is baseball. Nothing like watching a game of your favorite pro team or maybe you have a family member who is playing on a softball team or little league team. It's a great experience spending a sunny afternoon cheering the players on.

Sadly, I never got the chance to watch my youngest brother when he played little league ball. I lived too far away to be able to attend, but it would have been fun to watch him play. I never signed up for little league baseball. I did play on the WAAL softball team for awhile, but I struck out more that I hit the ball, and that was the end of that.

As I spent some time looking down at the Binghamton area thanks to Google Maps, which is something I do a lot, I noticed we have a lot of nice baseball and softball fields that are open to the public or used for organized leagues. So, for those of your who love baseball and softball, I have listed below some of the awesome greater Binghamton area baseball and softball fields.

There may be a few I missed, so if you know of any, let me know. I did not include area high school baseball fields or Mirabito Stadium. These fields are community fields. And these photos are the latest shots taken by Google Maps, so some may have changed since the picture was taken.
