It was 40 years ago today that Led Zeppelin released their 6th studio album. It had been nearly 2 years since the band's previous album, Houses of the Holy. Many critics were quick to say this would be a flop, but they couldn't have been more wrong.

Physical Graffiti was the bands first two record album, the album cover fit very well with the double jacket depicting a New York tenement block.

The album is very much a classic with songs like, Trampled Under Foot, and House of the Holy, and the epic, Kashmir with its ominous, mysterious, eastern flavor and orchestral sounds.

The reissue remastered box set is out in stores today!

Like the Beatles, Led Zeppelin's music is now being performed in school music departments, check out this group of students performing Kashmir with marimbas, xylophone and other instruments.
