I wish I saw this particular Facebook post earlier. The Kutztown Borough Police Department took to Facebook last week to find three volunteers to help them train their police officers.

They were looking for volunteers to drink alcohol for free as long as they were willing to let them use you in training sessions so officers would learn how to administer standardized field sobriety tests during DUI traffic stops.

As you can imagine, with the offer of free alcohol they have been inundated with potential volunteers so they don't need anymore.

I know other police stations have done this and there are certain requirements. The Kutztown Borough Police Department's Facebook page said, volunteers must have a clean criminal history, no history of drug or alcohol abuse, volunteers must have a sober and responsible party to take control after the training was complete, and volunteers must be willing to drink hard liquor to the point of inebriation.

I don't know if I would actually want to do this. I don't like waking up with a hangover as it is. I do like to drink to the point where I get a buzz, but to get to the point where you fall down drunk is just not my idea of a good time.

But, to help the police, I think if one of the police departments in the Binghamton area decide to do this I might give it a try even though I would regret the hangover the next day.
