The proposals increase the delivery prices for NYSEG customers by close to 23.7% for electricity and for gas with RG&E is asking for an electric increase of 5.5% and 4% for natural gas.

The previous rate schedules expired last month but the PSC has 11 months of review while rates are maintained into 2020.  Public hearings are to be scheduled as part of the review process.

Company officials have indicated they are investing more on things like maintaining infrastructure and controlling vegetation around transmission routes.  Utility meters are also to be replaced over the next four years.
