Nothing Is Certain Except Death and Taxes

What person said this? Well, no one. Actually the comment is "In this world, nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes." That person is Benjamin Franklin.

It was written in a letter by Old Ben to Jean-Baptiste Leroy in 1789. Remember when we used to write letters? Younger folks may ask just what is a letter! Well, this blog is not about quotes or letters. Actually it's about taxes, and they are due by end of day April 15th, 2015. That's tomorrow if you haven't checked the calendar lately.

If you are like me, you've gotten them done in advance and hopefully received a refund, which is nice to get. There have been years when I owed either state or federal taxes, or both. In those instances, I waited until the very last day to send out the check. So if you have done the deed, here's your friendly reminder that you have very little time left to get it done.
