A Norwich man admits he covered up for his boyfriend in the rape and killing of an 11 year old girl but prosecutors say 37-year-old James Brower did not participate in the rape or murder of Jacelyn O’Connor.

The girl was killed in the home Brower shared with Tobias Rundstrom Wooding on July 30, 2017.

Rundstrom-Wooding pleaded guilty to the murder last June.

Brower April 12 pleaded guilty to hindering prosecution and is expected to be sentenced to one-and-a-half to four-and-a-half years in prison.  Sentencing is set for June.

Rundstrom-Wooding admitted sexually assaulting and smothering O’Connor and was sentenced in August to 20-years to life in prison.

The girl was the half sister of Brower’s sons.

Brower was initially accused of facilitating the crimes but then was accused of trying to protect his boyfriend, even attempting to implicate his own sons in the death.
