Chicago is the town of Al Capone, so you would think it would be able to guard against the simplest of jail breaks. Not so much. And the way it happened is the stuff of movies.

Bank robbers Joseph Banks (the humor is not lost on me there!) and Kenneth Conley fashioned a homemade rope (think bedsheets), fastened it to the window bars in their cell and slid down the length of the high rise jail's wall. It was that simple.

No one noticed until headcount time! To me, there are a few things wrong here. How could no one on the streets have seen this? And why are the bars so far apart that these two could climb out?

Way to go Chicago! The escapees are still at large.
