News of the Weird Runner Up: Emu Jogs with Humans

I don't like walking or jogging alone. It's boring, even with music. In this day and age it's better have a buddy anyway. Apparently, the same goes for birds.

A Virginia Beach, VA animal shelter received a number of calls that an Emu was jogging with a human. They were some of the oddest calls supervisor Wayne Gilbert ever got, so he investigated.

Sure enough there it was. An Emu (legal to have in the area by the way) had escaped from its home and wandered until it found the jogger then decided to jog right along!

The bird was retrieved and returned home. Meanwhile, the jogger had to find a new, and less feathery, buddy to join him.
