New York Offers Rebates for Electric Car Charging Stations

Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]Businesses, non-profits and landlords can apply for partial reimbursement when they install electric vehicle charging stations.

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is offering rebates of $4,000 for the installation of Level 2 Charging Stations at workplaces, multi-unit housing sites, and other parking lots.

The rebate could cover up to 80% of the cost of installation.

A Level 2 Charging Station is a unit that provides up to 25 miles per hour of charging for an electric car.

A total of $5 million is set aside for the program.
