I recently read an article about a toy company that has teamed up with the Girl Scouts of America, to market an Easy Bake Oventype toy that can be used along with cookie mixes to let your kids make their own Girl Scout Cookies!

The company is called Wicker Cool Toys and the ovens come with a mix to make Thin Mints, plus there are additional mixes you can purchase to make peanut butter, and other Girl Scout Brands.

Since the oven will be selling for a price around $60, with additional mixes said to cost between $7 and $15.

The price of a box of Girl Scout cookies, already made, is approximately $4, which is much cheaper than the toy oven.

The question would be is it worth the extra money to give your child the hands on experience of making the cookies at home?

Some parents go to great lengths to give their children a practical experience and this is just another choice.

I remember the Easy Bake Ovens when we were kids. My cousin had one and we would get her to make us some sweets. Sometimes we even ate the mixes before they could get baked. Oops!
