You know when you're starving and you stand in front of the glow of the refrigerator, staring at the emptiness inside, close the door only to open it again and take another peek to make sure that nothing delicious magically appeared? That was me the other day.

Sadly, nothing delicious appeared- all the remained were the same four jars of pickles on the top shelf. Each jar had one lone pickle inside, floating in a sea of brine. After scooping out the surviving pickles, I found myself looking at those four jars which were filled with pickle juice, wondering if there was anything I could do with the juice instead of just throwing it down the drain- I mean, it seemed like it would be a waste to just let it go.

So I did what most people do when they're not sure what to do with food. No, I didn't Google the answer. I called my mom. She told me that I could save the juice and drink it after a hard workout because (according to my mom) pickle juice is loaded with stuff that replenishes electrolytes. Mom also told me that I could use it to remove those pesky weeds that pop up between the cracks in the driveway.

I'm all for drinking pickle juice. When I was a kid, my uncle used to save his jars of pickle juice and I'd chug them down like nobody's business. I guess I was doing the cool thing before it was cool because have you heard? Pickle juice soda is now a real thing!

Pickle juice soda is being made and sold by Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop. The candy shop announced their new drink to the world in a pickle pun-filled Facebook post which read, "If you're the kind of pickle lover who relishes all things pickled, this is gonna be a really big dill."

No, I haven't tried pickle juice soda. Not because I don't want to, but because I have to do a little thing called adulting. You know- making sure my bills are paid, making sure my kid is eating healthy foods. One single bottle of pickle juice soda, shipped is $9.99. So basically, $10 bucks for a novelty soda. Although my mouth waters at the thought of how delicious this drink might be, $10 is half a case of diapers (with a coupon) and when it comes to deciding whether to buy diapers or pickle juice soda, I'm always going to go with the diapers. Always.
