If you’ve ever wondered about the people who have lived and died here throughout the years, the Nanticoke Valley Historical Society of Maine is pleased to announce “History of the Headstones”

History of the Headstones is the first in a series of historical presentations that will be performed throughout the Town of Maine on Route 26, Sunday August 15th at 3pm.

According to a news release from the Nanticoke Valley Historical Society of Maine, the presentation will include a walking tour of the Maine Cemetery and will feature local actors that will portray several citizens including, Dr Dwight Dudley (October 1841-May 1921),Harriet Tabor “Lala” Ketchum (Marean) (May1847-November 1865), Stephen P. Vandeburgh (February 1816-October 1896), Eugene Walter (December 1890-1977), Gertrude Lillian Haskins Walter (December 1896-1988), and Marion P. Warner (July 1926-May 2008).

There is no charge, but there will be a free-will offering will be taken to benefit the Nanticoke Valley Historical Society
