Soulive is part of Royal Family Records based out of New York City even though the band originated in Woodstock, NY and was originally signed to Blue Note Records. This group in particular is primarily made up of three musicians; brothers Alan Evans on drums and Neal Evans on Hammond B3, bass and clavinet as well as guitarist Eric 'Kraz' Krasno.

Throughout their history as a trio, Soulive has had numerous guest musicians and vocalists. Several of their most common guests on tour are The Shady Horns consisting of Ryan Zoidis (saxes), Sam Kinniger (Alto Sax), Eric Bloom (trumpet), James Casey (Tenor Sax), Brian Thomas (Trombone) and Rashaawn Ross ( trumpet).

If the name of this band or any of the members sounds familiar to you, it's probably because they are part of the same record label as one of my favorite bands, Lettuce and several of them are in the group as well. Every time I go see any of these bands, I am amazed at the way they play off each other so seamlessly, their technique, and how many different musicians can perfectly weave everything together the way they do at the same time and make it sound so phenomenal. You definitely do not want to miss these guys!
