A young motorcyclist was seriously injured when the bike he was driving struck a flag pole in Tioga County.

The crash happened just after 1:30 a.m. Friday on Main Street in Apalachin.

The motorcycle crashed into the pole at the Apalachin Library. The operator was thrown from the bike. He was taken to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City.

The impact of the collision caused the flag pole at the library parking lot to bend.
