According to WBNG TV, the New York State Police have released the identity of the pedestrian who was struck by a car in the town of Chenango Friday night. According to WBNG TV, Troopers identified the man as Robert J. Lowe, 58 years of age.

Lowe was struck by a vehicle on Upper Front Street in the town of Chenango near Sonic Restaurant on Friday night around 6:20 p.m. He was rushed to Wilson Hospital with head trauma, he eventually succumbed to his injuries.

According to WBNG, police don't expect any tickets to be issued. They did state that the area is poorly lit and lacks a crosswalk. (Continue scrolling for more)

That was one of two accidents involving cars and pedestrians on Route 11 over the weekend. According to News Radio 1290 WNBF, a man was struck by two cars on Upper Court Street in Kirkwood.

That man was identified as 62-year-old Glenn Shoen. Shoen was reportedly knocked down by one car and then run over by a second car that did not stop.

Shoen was critically injured in the accident that took place around 7 p.m. Saturday night.
