Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]A Cortland man is accused of having illegal drugs in his possession when he was found napping at the K-Mart store on State Route 13 in the Town of Cortlandville.

Cortland County Sheriff’s official say store employees called them when they found the man sleeping in the sporting goods section for about three hours and they couldn’t wake him up.

Deputies say when they roused 31 year old Robert Stephens III, it appeared he was under the influence of a substance.  The responding officer found Stephens in possession of 2 unopened Suboxone strips.

He is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance not in the original container.

Stephens has been ordered to appear in Cortlandville Town Court in August.
