Looking out my window onto the road from my home early this morning it looked like we got just a few inches of snow until I stepped off the porch and sunk into my walkway

Wow, driving in there must have been a foot of snow on the roads, not a soul in sight with the exception of a few trucks equipped with plows and a few early risers snow blowing their driveways and walk ways.

I got thinking about my childhood and those huge snow storms they we would get, there is nothing that will get a kid out of bed quicker than a snow day with no school.

I remember we use to grab the snow shovels and go knocking on the doors of the neighbors, the elderly ones first and then any houses that hadn't been touched. I couldn't tell you how much money we made but if we got 10 bucks it was a lot of money..

Do kids still go out on snow days and shovel snow for money? The world has changed a lot since I was a kid and trust is a much bigger issue than in the days of my youth. Sad but true.

Whatever you're doing on this snowy Wednesday take it slow on the roads and don't throw out your back cleaning off the walkway.
