Prepare yourselves for the biggest Jurassic Park movie ever.

Or at least the longest.

That’s because this summer’s third Jurassic World — and, supposedly, the very last film in the franchise — Jurassic World: Dominion bears a hefty two hour and 26 minute runtime. That’s according to Collider, who confirmed this information with “multiple sources.” If that holds, 146 minutes would make Jurassic World: Dominion the longest film in the entire franchise by a margin of nearly 20 minutes.

Here is how the (as yet unofficial) Jurassic World: Dominion runtime stacks up with the five previous movies in the franchise.

  • Jurassic Park: 128 minutes
  • The Lost World: Jurassic Park: 129 minutes
  • Jurassic Park III: 92 minutes
  • Jurassic World: 124 minutes
  • Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom: 128 minutes
  • Jurassic World: Dominion: 146 minutes

(Yes Jurassic Park III is the real outlier of the series at just 92 minutes. That one is like a lean exploitation movie, instead of the grandeur and spectacle of the rest.)

You had to assume Dominion will be on the longer side, if only because the film includes both the cast of the current series like Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, but also features a reunion of the core trio from the original Jurassic Park: Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern. You can’t squeeze in all those characters — plus a million dinosaurs — in a little over two hours. That’s just not possible.

Jurassic World: Dominion is scheduled to open in theaters on June 10, 2022. The movie was directed by returning filmmaker Colin Trevorrow, who previous helmed the first Jurassic World and co-wrote the script for the second, Fallen Kingdom.
