JC Man Seriously Hurt After Attack in Front of His Home
Johnson City police say a man sustained a traumatic brain injury when he was assaulted outside his village residence.
Authorities say police Friday received a report of a man lying on the ground in front of a house on Endicott Avenue.
Officers found the 64-year-old man unresponsive on the sidewalk.
Medics with the Union Volunteer Emergency Squad treated the man and transported him to Wilson Medical Center.
Police say the man remains hospitalized. His condition was not released.
Detectives say 43-year-old Edward Stokes III was arrested in connection with the attack on the other man. He was charged with first-degree assault, a felony.
Investigators say additional charges may be filed in the case.
Police did not provide information about the nature of the dispute or whether the men knew each other before the attack. They also did not indicate whether any weapons were used in the incident.
