You've heard of the Wicked Witch of the West and East, but did you know New York State is passionate about its witches? There are a handful of wicked events lined up for the next few months.

Walk With the Witches in Upstate, New York

This time of year folks are scouring the internet to find spooky activities for the whole family.

Haunted History Trail of New York is an excellent source for all things spooky across New York State. Recently they shared a fun event with a hint of wickedness and a touch of compassion.

On Thursday, September 19th, witches will line the streets of Saratoga Springs...sort of.

The Witch Walk & Dance is a fundraiser that raises donations to support local animal organizations. Hundreds of participants show up in "their most imaginative witchy attire" and decorate the local shops and streets with hats, brooms, and costumes.

Thousands of dollars have been raised in donations over the years for animal charities and have helped local business revenue. Guests of all ages are welcome! Visit HauntedHistorytrail.com for all the event details.

 

Surfs Up! Witches Paddle Board on Hudson River Celebrating Spooky Season

The witches in Upstate, New York aren't the only ones having fun.

Sleepy Hollow, New York may be one of the best places across the nation to celebrate spooky season, followed closely by Salem, Massachusettes of course.

Starting in late September, people start to slowly trickle into the Westchester County town to take in the haunted history of the Hudson Valley.

The Sup Witches Festival is back for 2024! And it sounds like this year will be bigger than ever. It's the 150th Anniversary of Sleepy Hollow and according to the Sup Witches website they're "getting ready for some big changes" including a bigger park, more food, vendors, and "more wicked fun!"

You can see the Witches paddle in at Kingsland Point Park in Sleepy Hollow on Sunday, October 13th, 2024 from 12 pm to 5 pm.
