Big Vestal Hills Country Club Development Project To Be Detailed
Some new uses for the old Vestal Hills Country Club site in the town of Binghamton are in the works.
A development firm owned by Brett Pritchard acquired the 209-acre property off Webb Road from Broome County in 2022.
Pritchard has been considering options for the property, which the county had considered using for a veterans services center.

The town of Binghamton board will hold a public hearing Tuesday evening to hear a presentation by Pritchard on plans that have been developed for the site.
A "gated community" for people 55 years of age and older is being proposed on a 40-acre portion of the former country club property. That project, which calls for about 90 single cottage-style units, would be overseen by Good Shepherd Communities.

The remaining land on the site would be divided into 5- to 10-acre lots for new home construction.
Pritchard told WNBF News there are three main elements to the development plans: the gated community, housing for young professionals and market-rate housing.
The presentation and a public hearing on the proposed projects are to take place at the Binghamton Town Hall on Park Avenue starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
