The Chenango County Sheriff's Office has made a significant arrest in connection with multiple burglaries and thefts.

Tracy L. Boyer, a 45-year-old resident of the Town of Columbus in Chenango County, has been charged with several felonies including Grand Larceny, Burglary, and Conspiracy, as well as misdemeanors of False Written Statement and Conspiracy.

The arrest comes after a six-month investigation conducted by the Chenango County Sheriff's Office Detectives Division. The investigation was prompted by numerous complaints of burglaries and thefts in the area. As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that Boyer, who worked as a Home Health Aide, had been stealing from her clients and cunningly framing family members for the crimes committed. One reported theft amounted to over $50,000.00, while another complaint stated that over $3,000.00 had been stolen. In addition, numerous pieces of jewelry were reported missing.

During the investigation, Boyer admitted to her tactics and confessed to aiding another individual in unlawfully gaining access to a residence. In a separate incident, she solicited a friend to provide a false written statement. The detectives involved in the investigation received assistance from a member of the New York State Police Major Crimes Unit.

Tracy L. Boyer was subsequently arrested and now faces charges of Grand Larceny in the 2nd degree, Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, two counts of Burglary in the 2nd degree, two counts of Conspiracy in the 5th degree, False Written Statement, and Conspiracy in the 6th degree.

It is important to note that Boyer is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
