
Celebrate Local Heritage At Broome County’s Path Through History Weekend

According to the Broome County Department of Planning and Economic Development, this Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, October 11th through the 13th, 2025, is a Path Through History Weekend.
Taking place at various locations throughout Broome County, visitors will be able to celebrate and be a part of our ethnic heritage, food, and music, performing arts, outdoor sculpture, museums, mansions, train station, and children’s discovery center, to name a few.

There will be a total of 16 local heritage sites in Broome County that will participate in various events and exhibits. Below, you will find a brief description of some of the events. For a complete list and map, visit the Broome County Path Through History website.

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH CELEBRATION
Featuring the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic Americans and all Hispanic countries, Saturday, October 11th, from 6 to 9 p.m. at 98 Glenwood Avenue in Binghamton.
TRI-CITIES OPERA
Celebrating its 76th season, presenting Puccini's Gianni Schicchi at the Tri-Cities Opera Center on 315 Clinton Street in Binghamton. Showtimes are Friday & Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinee at 3 p.m.
DOWNTOWN BINGHAMTON PUBLIC SCULPTURE TOUR
This tour will begin at the Phelps Mansion Museum located at 191 Court Street in Binghamton, on Saturday at 1 p.m. It is a guided walking tour of Downtown Binghamton’s rich history of architecture and public sculpture.
PHELPS MANSION GUIDED WALKING TOURS OF SPRING FOREST CEMETERY
There will be two Spring Forest Cemetery walking tours at 51 Mygatt Street, Binghamton. Saturday and Sunday both begin at 9:30 a.m. The Saturday tour will focus on individuals connected to the Phelps Mansion, and the Sunday tour will focus on the symbolism found on old monuments.
ROBERSON MUSEUM FLORAL PARK CEMETERY GUIDED WALKING TOUR
The cemetery is located at 150 Floral Avenue in Johnson City. The walking tour will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to Noon, discovering Binghamton's industrial past, touring the grave sites of those who built it.
DISCOVER CENTER EXPLORING INNOVATION AND PLAY
At the Discovery Center, 60 Morgan Road, Binghamton, on Saturday & Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Journey through time and innovation. with over 30 indoor and 20 outdoor exhibits.
WINDSOR TRAIN DEPOT MUSEUM, FARMERS MARKET, & MORE
Various events to enjoy in the Village of Windsor on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., including the Windsor Train Depot Museum, Old South Windsor Grange Hall, and 1-Room Schoolhouse, Historic Marker at Boyhood Home of George Catlin - painter of Native Americans, Windsor High School Future Farmers of America, Windsor Whip Works. Also, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., check out the Windsor Farmers’ Market.
DEPOSIT 29TH ANNUAL OKTOBERFEST STREET FAIR
Front Street, Village of Deposit. It's the Deposit Oktoberfest Street Fair on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring live music, kid activities, food vendors, a beer tent, crafts, and street vendors.
KILMER MANSION: OPEN HOUSE & SELF-GUIDED TOURS
This event is hosted by Friends of Kilmer Mansion, located at 9 Riverside Drive in Binghamton, on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
