Thomas Anderson of Vector Construction, the project contractor, said paving operations will be weather-dependent.

Anderson said the bridge should reopen to vehicular and pedestrian traffic by the end of the month.

The Lester Avenue span, which goes over Norfolk Southern Railway tracks, is a major north-south route between CFJ Boulevard and Main Street. It's been closed for more than six months for the replacement of the bridge deck and sidewalks.

In addition to the planned paving, some concrete remains to be poured for the $2.5 million project.

Although the bridge should reopen to traffic in about three weeks, a couple of things will be missing.

Anderson said two poles for lighting at the center of the span won't be delivered right away because of a "fabrication delay." They may not be installed until January.

There will be lighting installed on both ends of the bridge.

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
