Western New Yorker, Democrat Kathy Hochul makes history again, being elected the first woman Governor in the Empire State.

In results posted by the New York State Board of Elections, statewide voters have handed Hochul a full term in the job, becoming the first woman elected New York Governor. She outright wins the office she took over in 2021 when former Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) resigned.

Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli has won another term over Republican challenger Paul Rodriguez 54.96% of the vote to 41.95%

Attorney General Letitia James wins another term over Republican/Conservative challenger Michael Henry 52.61% to 44.83%.

For the U.S. Senate, Democrat Charles Schumer, the Senate Majority Leader has not gotten the landslide reelection he is used to. Schumer has won reelection 55.01% of the vote over Republican/Conservative challenger Joe Pinion's 42.58% of the vote.

In the newly minted 19th Congressional District, redrawn under allegations of Democrat gerrymandering, the race is too close to call with the apparent winner for the new 19th District after the polls closed at 9 p.m. Tuesday was Republican Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro with 50.25% of the vote over Broome County native and former staffer to several high-profile Democrats including Congressman Maurice Hinchey, Josh Riley with 48.07% of the vote.  There are still absentee and affidavit ballots to be counted and Riley has not conceded.  Molinaro, however is claiming victory.  He issued a statement overnight saying “voters of Upstate sent a message that they demand a government that works for them.”  He vowed to “work everyday to be a worthy member of Congress for both those who did and did not vote for me.”

Republican Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, who has represented Broome County and the Southern Tier in what had been the 22nd District, opted to run for the newly drawn 24th District. She is the apparent winner of another term over Democrat Steven Holden 64.05% to 33.01%

For the New York State Assembly 123 District, Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo has won another term, defeating Republican Binghamton Councilwoman Sophia Resciniti by a closer margin than the Democrat has normally seen with 53.67% of the vote to Resciniti's 43.91%.

For New York State Senate, the race in the 51 District, Republican Peter Oberracker is the apparent winner over Democrat Eric Ball 60.39% to 36.37%.

In the 52nd District, former Binghamton Mayor Richard David (R) trails Democrat Councilwoman Lea Webb 49.41% to 49.82% while he was the leader in the count in just Broome County by about 10,000 votes.

The ballot proposal asking for approval of the Clean Water, Clean Air and Green Jobs Environmental Bond Act got the approval of 50% of the voters statewide. The no vote came in at 28.85% while 12.12% of voters either didn't turn their ballot over to vote on the proposition or chose not to register their opinion.

Absentee and affidavit votes need to be counted and the vote certified before results become official.
