Binghamton’s Galaxy Brewing Property and Equipment for Sale

A fully-equipped craft brewery in downtown Binghamton now is on the market, more than two years after the place stopped making beer.

Galaxy Brewing Company opened its production and dining facility at 41 Court Street in August 2013.

Angela Martinez of Keller Williams in Binghamton said the property was listed about three weeks ago. The L-shaped building is on the north side of Court Street with another entrance to the east on Washington Street.

Martinez said the listed price is $1.5 million for the property itself. She said a buyer could acquire the building and the beer-making equipment that remains on the site for $2 million.

Galaxy Brewing was established by the father and son team of Michael and Seth Weisel. They could not be reached for comment.

The Weisels in December 2018 announced the closing of the Galaxy Brewing restaurant as part of a plan to focus on beer production.

A few months later, a proposal to move the Galaxy Brewing operation to the former E.H. Titchener and Company building on Clinton Street was presented to the city planning commission. That property had been acquired by Isaac Anzaroot, who had joined the Weisels as a partner.

The move to Clinton Street never happened amid disagreements involving the partners.

In May 2020, the planning commission approved a proposed Anzaroot redevelopment project for the 41 Court Street property. The plans called for the creation of 24 apartments with 55 bedrooms at the site. That project also was scrapped.

Anzaroot told WNBF News he's lost interest in developing the Court Street property. Binghamton and Johnson City officials have cited Anzaroot for various code violations on some of the properties he owns.

Anzaroot said he wants to sell the more than 100 properties he owns in Broome County. He said: "I don't have the appetite to fight with government officials."
