Endicott Expected to Make Decision on En-Joie Golf Course
Lawmakers in Endicott may soon decide what should be done with the En-Joie Golf Course.
The village-owned course has been operated and managed by Broome County in recent years. The current agreement between Endicott and the county runs through the end of December.
Broome County Executive Jason Garnar said efforts to discuss the future of the facility with village officials have been going on for three years.

The golf course irrigation system needs to be replaced. The project could cost several million dollars.
Garnar told WNBF News that Endicott Mayor Nick Burlingame has indicated the village board is planning to make its decision about the golf course at its October 19 meeting.
The county recently advised Endicott officials it's willing to extend the current management agreement for one year.
County officials want to negotiate a deal with the village to assume ownership of the golf course. If that occurs, the county then would cover the cost of the irrigation system project.
Garnar has included the management and operation of En-Joie in his proposed 2027 budget.
The Dick's Sporting Goods Open tournament is scheduled to be played at the course in late June.
Mayor Burlingame could not be reached for comment on En-Joie's future.
