A 72-year-old Marathon man, Marshal O. Morehouse, is facing charges for alleged sexual abuse following an investigation in the Town of Lisle.

On May 24, 2024, the Broome County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a 14-year-old victim from the Town of Lisle, detailing instances of sexual contact with Morehouse. Responding to the information, investigators collaborated with Child Protective Services to ensure the victim's safety and provide a secure residence while the investigation unfolded.

Inquiries into the matter led to Morehouse voluntarily surrendering himself at the Broome County Sheriff’s Office. He was subsequently charged with two counts of Sexual Abuse in the 3rd Degree, classified as Class B Misdemeanors, as well as with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, considered a Misdemeanor offense.
