Binghamton Residents Charged After Wild Police Pursuit

According to a release from the Broome County Sheriff's Office, after fleeing deputies, a couple of Binghamton residents are facing multiple charges after a recent pursuit.

Deputies of the Broome County Sheriff's Office Road Patrol were in the area of Glenwood Avenue on Binghamton's First Ward on January 22, 2026, around 1:54 a.m., when they observed a vehicle that matched the description of a Jeep that had been involved in multiple pursuits with the Binghamton Police Department.

Motorist Failed To Stop For Deputies

Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver of the Jeep failed to stop, continuing northbound on Julian Street at a high rate of speed, while ignoring stop signs and jumping a curb onto Holland Street.

Pursuit of the Jeep led deputies onto Prospect Street, proceeding to the State Route 17 East on ramp in the Town of Dickinson. While on Route 17, the driver was reported as weaving across multiple lanes of traffic and reaching speeds of approximately 90 mph.

Objects Thrown From Fleeing Vehicle

During the pursuit, a front-seat passenger climbed into the back seat of the Jeep and began throwing objects at the patrol vehicle. The pursuit continued to the Exit 12 off-ramp as the driver swerved across all lanes of traffic and between two tractor-trailers.

According to the BCSO report, the driver of the Jeep ran another red light and proceeded onto Interstate Route 81 South, while the passenger continued throwing objects at pursuing patrols.

Stop-Sticks Deployed To End The Pursuit

Another member of the BCSO Road Patrol was positioned on Route 81 S near Exit 9 with stop-sticks and coordinated with pursuing patrols to successfully deploy them on the fleeing vehicle, flattening both front tires as it took the Exit 9 off-ramp.

The driver finally complied and was placed into custody along with the female passenger. The driver of the Jeep, Sean Brown from Binghamton, was found to have multiple outstanding warrants from the Pennsylvania State Police in Gibson, including one felony. The passenger was identified as Kiley Bonilla-Lattanze of Binghamton.

A small plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine was found in the vehicle. The BCSO also noted that, in addition to having stolen plates, the vehicle was also unregistered, uninspected, and uninsured. Brown’s license was suspended due to failure to answer 13 summons on 4 separate dates.

Driver And Passenger Charges

According to the BSCO report, Brown was charged with:
• Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor
• Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor
• Two Counts of Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree, Class A Misdemeanors
• Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor
• 47 traffic violations
He was processed and held at the Broome County Correctional Facility pending extradition by the Pennsylvania State Police.

Kiley Bonilla-Lattanze was charged with:
• Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor
• Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor
She was processed and released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Kirkwood Court.
