Endicott Woman Gets 6 Years for Shooting at Binghamton Home
A woman who fired a couple of gunshots at an occupied Binghamton residence has been sentenced to six years in state prison.
18-year-old Armony Murphy of Endicott was taken into custody at a home in the village shortly after the August 18 incident.
Police had said Murphy had been involved in an argument with another woman on Catherine Street on the West Side. They said she pulled a handgun from a bag and fired two rounds at the occupied house.
Investigators found two 9 millimeter shell casings in the street near the home.
Detectives would not reveal the nature of the dispute between the two women.
Murphy in October pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon. She initially was charged with two additional counts of reckless endangerment.
Police said no injuries were linked to the shooting.
This story was updated to reflect revised information from the Broome County District Attorney's Office that Armony Murphy was an Endicott resident at the time of her arrest. An earlier news release from the office indicated she had been living in Binghamton.
