Authorities say 23-year-old Bayso Vannavongsa of Binghamton was shot in the chest with an arrow from a compound bow after being ambushed by 21-year-olds Savannah Perry and Carson Vanco of Endicott. The incident occurred at the abandoned Vestal Hills Country Club, where Vannavongsa allegedly had a stockpile of weapons and other property believed by authorities to have been stolen. Authorities say Vannavongsa's injuries were non-life-threatening and he was transported to Wilson Hospital for evaluation.

At the abandoned country club, authorities found five rifles, a sawed-off shotgun, a BB gun, and two handguns, as well as a chain saw, a dirt bike, a generator, and various tools. Vannavongsa was also found to be in possession of approximately 24 grams of methamphetamine.

According to authorities, the three involved parties knew each other, and they believe Vanco and Perry conspired to ambush Vannavongsa at the abandoned country club, resulting in Vanco allegedly shooting Vannavongsa with the arrow.

Vanco and Perry fled the scene after the incident, and were found by New York State Police shortly afterwards. When State Police attempted to stop the vehicle, Vanco and Perry fled on foot and were located hiding in the garage of a residence on Powderhouse Road. Both were taken into custody.

As a result of the incident, Vannavongsa was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

Vanco and Perry were each charged with one count of assault in the first degree and one count of conspiracy in the fourth degree.
